Compost
Miniota compost site is located outside the gates at the Miniota Waste Disposal Grounds.
Birtle compost site is located north-east of the Birtle & District Community Centre (arena). Please add compostable materials to the 'Add Here' pile, and take finished compost from the 'No Dumping' pile. Please do not add fresh compost to the finished pile.
Please do not leave plastic bags that were used to carry materials when depositing items at the compost site.
Compostable material:
- vegetable trimmings
- fruit rinds & peeling
- leaves and grass clippings
- garden waste
Please do not add:
- animal waste
- ashes
- plastic bags and containers
- metal and glass
- large branches
- garbage
- raspberry canes
- corn stalks
- meat products
